The function:
The kidney's most important work is keeping balance (medical term homeostasis).Homeostasis means that the body keeps a stable environment inside itself.
The body wants to have the same amount of water, salt and acids in the blood andtherefore if it is too much of water in the body, the kidneys puts more water in theurine and if there is not enough of water, the kidneys puts less water in the urine.The body balance is direct dependent on the wastes as the kidneys get rid of as:
- Extra water
- Extra electrolytes (salts)
- Urea (waste)
- Drugs
- Toxins (toxic products in the body)
